After a few months of hiatus from travels(my last was Tokyo in April), we managed to have a quick visit to the province of Cavite this week. We needed to go to a wake in Manila Memorial Park in Dasmarinas, where a sister of my husband's friend died due to breast cancer at the young age of thirty-five. We also planned to visit a longtime friend's cafe. It was hitting two birds in one stone kinda day.

Weekender 03: Seafood and Ribs Warehouse, Coco and Mom's health
Getting back to my exercise routine(at least 3-4x a week) was one of my agendas last week. I went last Wednesday for a workout but after completing my first 30 minutes on the elliptical machine, I got bored. On a regular day, I would gladly do it for an hour. I decided to join the zumba class instead which was about to start. I didn’t realize I miss dancing that much. I really had fun. It’s been two months since I stopped attending the zumba classes. In exchange, I was diligently working out pre-Christmas with pigging out during the holidays as my motivation. Haha.
My husband fetch me afterwards. We tried visiting SM North Edsa’s newest building, the North Towers for a change.

Weekender 02: de-Christmastified, Mom's health and some shopping
Is there ever a word "de-Christmastify"? Well, I just invented it. :D
One word that will describe my Monday last week. I finally had the courage to undress my tree and washed it. Everything that will remind us of Christmas is already tucked away in their respective boxes and cabinets.

Weekender 01: new year meet up and new specs
One of my best friends asked me last Christmas thru messenger if we could meet up on January 6 for some catch up. I don't usually go out on weekends to avoid the crowd, but twice a year lang kami magkita, plus my son was in Baguio for the weekend, so I agreed. I'm her daughter's Ninang and we usually do this after Christmas for lunch out and gift giving. This was also my signal to dye my hair(last time was five months?) after days of procastination. I'm really too lazy to head to the salon. So I did it myself with a little help from my husband who was unwilling initially. Haha.

Texas Joe's House of Ribs Subic and Cafe France Caltex
We want to deviate from our usual resto picks, so we googled the best eats in Subic. We chose Texas Joe's House of Ribs and Steak, a saloon type of resto near the Harbour front.

Subic escape anew : Camayan Beach Resort
My husband has been suffering from colds for almost ten days already. He insisted on curing it the natural way because we all know that the common colds can be treated with rest, hydration and nutrition. I made him breath a few drops of Eucalytus oil over boiled water, prepared Ginger tea with lemon and honey plus soupy meals like Nilagang Baka(beef broth), Tinolang Manok(Chicken soup w/ ginger), Sinigang Ribs and Bangus alternately. Over the weekend, he went to Manila Bay twice too, to at least breath some sea air to loosen his clogged nose.

ALDEN Adrenaline Rush concert
As an avid fan, I really wanted to watch Alden Richards this year since I wasn’t able to go last year. But it was already this month that I finally decided to go. My husband who was supportive of my fan girling told me to buy na my ticket and he will pay for it. I was not expecting that I could purchase pa but I was lucky enough that a few more were still available even if it was the first week of September already. Yay!

Unexpected bonding
We went to Ayala Mall Vertis North today. Initially, I want to attend zumba, but I decided to start with my home exercises again so I just danced for an hour after washing two rounds of laundry by machine.
We ate merienda at our favorite jaunt...
We continued with our window shopping. While I was about to fit at Reebok, my husband was talking to someone na pala. We bumped into our Kumpare J. He’s one of my hubby’s best friend since the 90’s. His family is into fishing. He met up with a business partner earlier and he was waiting for our Kumare. Ayun, instant bonding. We went back to Coffee Bean and ended up having dinner at a Japanese resto(I missed the name forgive me) in the fourth floor. Napansin ko lang minsan talaga mas maganda unplanned, natutuloy. Madami ng instances nangyari sa amin na ganun. It was an instant refresher from our daily routine. I love spontaneous meet ups like this.

| I want these bamboo(kawayan) plants at Army Navy in my home |
Last Saturday, my husband attended a wedding somewhere in Pampanga with my father in law and obviously, I begged off. Umandar na naman ang pagka-introvert ng Lola niyo. Haha.

Satur-day off
I did my laundry yesterday and I have nothing pending to do, plus the husband went to work and my son was still asleep, I decided to go to the mall and attend zumba class by noon time. I prepped my son's lunch too, re-heat na lang niya. I know I mentioned a while back that I don't go malling on weekends because I don't like mingling with too many people, so I thought I would go as early as possible. I arrived at the mall by 10: 15 am just right for the opening. I went around Landmark's Home department first. Ang sarap ng maluwag at di matao. Di nakaka-stress. :D

Chinese New year at BGC
I originally asked my husband to accompany me to Shangrila para maiba lang with our usual SM north edsa and Trinoma routes. I miss Rustan's. Gusto ko busugin ang mata ko lalo na sa Home department. Then we will just fetch our son from his office which is nearby. I wanna see where he works at gaano ka-safe. Umandar na naman ang pagka- stage mother ko.

UP Town Center on Valentine's day
My son went out ahead of us with his cousins, Uncle and balikbayan Sis in law after having dinner at home. Husband asked me that we go out for coffee and dessert, so we headed to somewhere near. We don't wanna be caught in Valentine traffic dahil baka ang ending imbes na sweet, mag-sisihan pa kami. Surprisingly, it was light. Yun pala ang secret, go out at 9pm when everyone's almost done with their dinner dates na. Huwag makisabay.

Zara, Landmark shopping and Cafe Via Mare
I don't usually go out on Sundays. As much as possible, I avoid crowds during weekends in malls. Sa dami ng tao ngayon sa Metro Manila mas madalas ma-stress ako kesa ma-relax. Sa parking lot, puno. Sa fitting room, pila. Sa cashier, pila. Sa CR, pila. Pila-tes everywhere. Normally, it's the husband only that goes out and gets to bike with his buddies and as for me and my son, we just stay home.
Pero today is an exception dahil may misyon ako- Project Shabby chic. As I've said, I want to refurbish our interiors with the French as an inspiration. I went to the mall by FX transpo and asked my husband to just fetch me when he's homebound na. I decided to take a peek at Zara first, one of my fave stores nowadays. Silip lang naman. Hindi ba I imposed a personal shopping ban last month because when I audited my expenses last year it turned out I went a little overboard. Kaya lang may SALE. Punyemas. Bakit ba ako napunta dito.

Baclaran and Quiapo
Being a first Wednesday of the month, I asked my husband if I could go to Baclaran and attend a novena prayer today. We split our ways after a heavy breakfast of steamed rice, binagoongan and adobong pusit. He needs to attend to some business and off I went to the church and a bit of shopping afterwards. I bought big plates from a nearby Japanese surplus store and fresh fruits.

brunch at Midas Hotel
As I've said, husband came from a bout of flu during the holidays so aside from our bike ride, this is another sort of celebration for getting healed.
We rarely eat in hotels(we reserve this on our out of town trips). You may consider this already as a BIG thing for us. I love the ambience in the lobby, so fragrant, as if may nakabasag at tumapon na pabango. Naku, guilty ako dito. Ilang beses na nangyari sa akin ito. But unlike me, my boys are like Wolverines, they didn't like the idea. Ang sakit daw sa ilong. Mabuti naman ang mabango kesa mabaho.
