January 2021 Garden tour

Ending January with a garden tour. For me, this is the best season of all in this side of our planet so I made sure to document it. I realized there have been many changes(added and killed plants in the process😀) since I had my walkabout in October last year.

A significant addition is my new passion in collecting succulents. Last November 26, I joined the CNS(cactus and succulents) bandwagon. I have purchased a lot from different sources and still learning about them. Pls. visit my Youtube channel to see this transformation> JANUARY 2021 GARDEN TOUR

Sunbathing succulents

Newbie succulent Mom here, and I conclude nakaka-addict pala talaga!🙋🏻‍♀️

Now done with the air drying and re-potting chores of my first batch haul, I am now slowly introducing my succulents to the natural elements of my garden~ sunlight, weather condition, etc.

After watching countless tutorials and reading articles, witnessing them under my care in the next few days if they will grow healthier or 'murdering' them will be a different story all together. And that's what a gardener/plant enthusiast's biggest challenge if I must say so. 😃

Please witness my new journey by subscribing on my channel!👇🏻

let’s talk about collecting

Collecting things will make you happy. It is a want, not a need. You sometimes tell yourself ,“I deserve these” after working so hard. Do you agree?

why plant

For the past few weeks, this is what I was busy of. The reason why I'm lagging behind with my blogposts, too. I spend most of my time outdoor.

back to gardening

I went to the nearest Garden center from our place. I want to revive my garden before it gets too hot.

Pre~Valentine's 2018

Royal Albert Old Country roses
I  love receiving food gifts. Those yummy Hopia buns with pastillas like fillings are given to us by one of our staff.  He bought it in Sta. Rita, Pampanga. I'm a sucker for native delicacies lalo na yung di pa gaano commercialized.

new faux flowers

I had the time finally to buy some roses, well, faux ones yesterday. I promised before that I won’t buy anymore. If ever, white lang. Hayan pink ang binili ko.

Faffing

I’ve been meaning to arrange some of my home decors around the house. Wala lang. It’s a sort of therapy na for me. I like moving things around on a regular basis. I’m a frustrated interior decorator so this is my way of letting off my so called failed dream. I have my whole house as my ‘laboratory’. Experiment lang ng experiment.

thriving

Oooops, I've been neglecting my small urban garden because of other concerns the past few weeks. Yesterday, I managed to have a bit of gardening-- collected dry leaves with my trusted walis tingting(broomstick), cut long and stray Sampaguita stems, weeded out...

healthy change is coming

May 14

Just to change my routine since I've been spinning here at home at least thrice a week, I decided to visit the gym.

Incidentally, the contestants for Miss Bikini Philippines were present. Super thin girls abound the area. Obviously, one thinks they don't need to be on the gym to lose weight. But do you know some of the gym goers are for weight (aside from muscle gain also) gaining?

I took a snapchat of their dance class.

I remember how I was as thin back in the day...

in full bloom

One more thing why I love summer in the Philippines(aside from its beach season and birthdays in the fam) is that I get to see our flowering plants in full bloom as well as our fruit trees(duhat and santol). I'm excited to share it to you...

On a roll

One of those few days I got to open my laptop. Huwag lang mag-'turtle net', mas madali talaga dito than using my Blogger app on my phone or the Ipad.

After my usual house chores and exercise(spinning for an hour) yesterday, I decided to update my blog. Allelujah!

Wearing a Baker's hat

Dec. 21, 2015

For the past three years, I've been busy baking pre-Christmas. This year, I baked 15 dozens of cupcakes and 18 packs of cookies(six pcs. in ea) for my sis in law's and siblings' giveaways, respectively. I wasn't prepared actually. I just got a random call from my sis in law asking me if I could bake for her. This was the second time. The first one was when she requested for her only daughter's birthday giveaways last year. I was happy but surprised. I wasn't looking forward to baking this year. You see, I've been a "sloth" because of my Aldub fixation. Akala ko this season would just pass by just like that. In short, I had to move my ass. Haha. This is a blessing and I wouldn't shrug off the chance.

Colorfy App

Adult coloring books are the rage now. This is successful because maybe a lot of adults are really stressed. Lalo na dito sa Pilipinas. Paglabas mo pa lang ng gate mo ma-stress ka na. Traffic, lack of road discipline and simple garbage problem bubulaga sa iyo. I salute kung sino man ang nakaisip ng Adult coloring books. It is really a great way of de-stressing.

To collect or not

My first Royal Albert ever :)
I'm not the type to collect things. Unang-una madali ako magsawa. Second, it's impractical. Lastly, ayaw ko ng kalat. My husband and son collect Lego toys, action figures, vinyl records and bikes. Ayun they tend to magkalat nga. At ako ang matiyaga magligpit. Huhu.

Gardening 2

Finally I was able to do this today. Transferring my overgrown plants to their new homes aka pots.

Aloe Vera- known as the Miracle plant...
(a spiky and green plant that has been used for thousands of years by the Egyptians and other cultures, for the treatment of different ailments – and for a good reason, given the fact that aloe vera contains natural antiseptics that can kill bacteria and viruses, helps prevent gum disease, diabetes, improves quality of skin, digestion, control cholesterol, acts as moisturizer, etc....)*

Gardening

After a quick bank transaction, I decided to finally drop by a nearby garden center just to buy soil before doing my groceries. I keep on postponing this at madalas nadadaanan ko pero nakakalimutan ko rin. Tanders na talaga.

Everything's here...

from small to gigantic pots...

bike ride

It was a bike kind of Sunday for my family. And our first this year. It was a sort of a celebration for getting healed. We went to MOA(Mall of Asia) and blended with the community of bikers there which is a familiar sight during weekends.

We rode for 18 kilometers. The cough never bothered me anyway.
