Weekender 04: Australian Open 2019 and Intermittent Fasting

I’ve been watching the Australian Open for almost two weeks now . It’s not a secret that tennis is my spectator sport. Mas gusto ko siya panoorin instead of actually playing it since the late 90’s. I like that a few young and very good ones are emerging like Naomi Osaka, Nikki Kyrgios and Stef Tsitsipas. But they have to wait, my faves are still reigning~ Novak Djokovic, Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer. Their time will come.

Stefano Tsitsipas
At the Men's single finals yesterday, Novak Djokovic emerged as the champion. It was his seventh. As much as I love Nadal, si Novak ang manok ko. It feels good that he's back on being World no. 1 after suffering from an injury and a surgery last year. In the women's division, 20 year old Naomi Osaka of Japan bagged the trophy.

from running to biking

I've been a gym member three months after my son was born. I was determined then to really get back into shape. During the '90s, p16,000 pesos lang lifetime member ka na. My sis became a member two years ago for p35,000 pesos. Grabe ang inflation no?

The French open Men's finals

June 7, 2015

I had an early celebration. I used my precious china while watching the Men's Singles Final. I was rooting for the world no. 1, Novak Djokovic against Stan Wawrinka. Novak will make history if he'll win this one. He would have been the seventh man to win a Career Grand Slam in tennis history. This was the most elusive Grand slam title for Novak because Rafael Nadal, the King of clay always dominate this event.

I partied too early. Stan was the better athlete. Novak incurred too many errors. I'm so saaaad...

After our sumptous dinner at IHOP yesterday, the boys headed to the coliseum while I mall hopped.

PBA Finals

My son will treat his Tatay tomorrow to a basketball game, last of a best of seven series. They are both rooting for Rain or Shine. Thank you, unico hijo and good luck to your team.

SM MOA

March 28, 2015

Our business requires us to go to the south of Manila at least thrice a week but dropping by SM MOA(which is just a stone's throw away) isn't always in our itinerary. We have SM North Edsa naman twenty minutes from our home so why bother. With the heavy traffic that we Filipinos endure almost everyday, ang feeling namin lagi ang hirap umuwi. We are always in a hurry because we don't want to get caught up in the middle of a traffic jam. Ngayon lang kasi my husband and son decided to watch the PBA (Rain or Shine vs Ginebra at 6pm) at the MOA Arena which is adjacent to the shopping center.

Dubai ATP tour

Watching while blogging and waiting for my unico hijo to come home. Multitasking it is. Lucky to catch my fave Novak Djokovic playing vs Tomas Berdych on Balls channel last night.

Tough match but we won. Looking forward to the exciting Saturday's final against Roger Federer.

Winner

Went for a quick afternoon drive for my MCDO fix. Drove thru for a cheeseburger meal, one pc chicken for my son and just fries for my husband.

It was no ordinary Sunday. As I predicted, Novak got his 5th Australian Open championship against British Andy Murray. Victorious indeed. I'm missing it already now. Till next year.

Australian Open

If there's another thing that I'm thankful of during these past days is that I get to watch the second week of this tennis open while I'm on my sick lair. I root for the world no.1 all the time, Novak Djokovic, though I'm consistently in awe of how great the other players, too. It would be a lonely sport without the likes of Federer, Nadal, Murray, etc. If my memory serves me right, it was in the late 90's that I got to fell in love with this game. My husband whose very sportsminded, introduced me to it. Panahon pa ng mga tennis greats like Andre Agassi, Steffi Graf, Pete Sampras, Michael Chang, etc. My husband even attended some trainings in our village clubhouse, pati ako binilhan ng raketa. But I didn't able to play that much. Badminton na lang. Naging favorite spectator sport ko na lang siya. Sa sobrang hilig din namin noon pati mga aso pinangalan namin sa kanila. Our then labradors were named Andre and Steffi. Imagine how happy were we nung nagkatuluyan yung dalawa. 'We found love in the tennis court' ang peg. There would be times that when I'm too lazy to exercise, kapag tennis season na na-iinspire ako mag-workout uli. Kahit yung legs na lang ni Steffie Graf o Maria Sharapova mapantayan ko. Sa ganda, wag na umasa.

Currently, my favorite Novak is gunning for a position in the finals. But he has to beat the defending champion, Stan Wawrinka first. *Brings out the popcorn*
