Philodendrons are great filtering air pollutants. Besides being hardy, its large leaves are good as air purifiers, the reason why they are very popular as indoor house plants, too.
The first kind that I bought was the Philodendron Moonlight because of its striking neon colored foliage.
I realized on my own that they are very easy to care for, just with the right soil mix and lighting.
Most Philodendron varieties require bright and indirect light. They thrive best in light, well-drained potting soil mix(I used coco cubes and organic compost). As to propagation, a cutting below the leaf nodes and submerging it in water will achieve new roots in a few days.
My current favorite is the Red Emerald Philodendron which can grow from 3 feet to higher.
