UP Chapel on a Sunday

For a long time I never set foot at the UP Diliman campus. My husband goes there at least once a week just to bike around or meet his biker friends. I used to be with him when I was that active pa in biking and running. I must say those days also were the times I was in my thinnest. But when you reach a certain age, there will be aches and pains that you get due to wear and tear. I stopped running and instead biked for a while. Then nung naging hardcore na yung husband ko,meaning he didn’t confine himself anymore just biking around the area, he went on exploring Antipolo, Batangas and even Baguio. That was the time I stopped. Ayokong masira ang balat ko. Haha. Kidding aside, it is too much for a woman like me. Maybe kung bata-bata ako. I’m happy nowadays indoors exercising, and that is going to the gym.

Holy Thursday 2018

I woke up at 5:00 am. Nowadays, I've been sleeping before midnight which is unusual for me. I went to the bathroom but went to bed again hoping to sleep some more. I woke up at 7am, when I heard my  husband open the door. He was scheduled to bike today. I immediately did what I have in my sked for today, that is doing the laundry. I took a bath afterwards and had a quick coffee fix with my diced hopia I bought yesterday at Ayala Malls Cloverleaf.

True authority comes from God's love- today's homily in a nutshell

Sunday's food blessing was like a sort of a miss because I was looking for Mussels(Tahong) and Galunggong in the market this morning but I failed. Instead...

Fried Tulingan + Swam o Tinolang Halaan
Verdict: Don't settle next time. Tahong and Galunggong are the best.

Daily Bread

There was a time that I read my daily devotion on a regular basis. I think I started during college days. Religion subject isn't my fave back in school, so this helped me a lot in understanding God's words in a layman's term. When I got married, naging irregular till nawala na yung habit.

busy on a Sunday?

I'm happy that I'm on my third week na of attending Sunday mass early in the morning...

I was five minutes late. First reading na when I arrived. Today is the feast of Sto. Niño. As His children, we are reminded to be childlike, always relying on God's presence and love in our lives.

giving thanks

For the first time in two weeks my husband was able to work. Of course, I have to accompany him in case traffic in the metro becomes unbearable. We were up by 5:30 am.

Easter mass and Batman vs Superman

Happy Easter! May we had the same  reflection from the last Holy week- Resurrection, Rebirth and Hope. Thank you Jesus for saving us. Thank you God, our Father.

Staycation during Holy week has always been my family's choice. We love Manila when hundreds of thousands make an Exodus starting Holy Wednesday.

Anticipated Palm Sunday

My Mom and sis asked me to go to the salon, a four minute walk from our house,  to hand me over my take home pancit and cake from my youngest sis. I wasn't able to join them earlier today. A little backgrounder, we live in the same neighborhood but in different villages. That's why we sometimes meet up outside(most of the time at the church) in case we can't drop by in each other's abode.

Ash Wednesday

It's been awhile since I've attended mass for Ash Wednesday. When I was still teaching, I never miss it since I was working in a Catholic school. It's a given that a mass will be celebrated and the priests/nuns go around our classrooms too, to put ash on our(students/employees) foreheads all day.

Ash Wednesday, a day of fasting, is the first day of Lent in Western Christianity. It occurs 46 days (40 fasting days, if the 6 Sundays, which are not days of fast, are excluded) before Easter and can fall as early as 4 February or as late as 10 March. (wikipedia)
