I thought I’m done reconnecting with friends over the holidays. You see, when my Mom died last April 2019, I wasn’t able to see them. After eight months, I came out of my unintentional self-imposed hiatus. I met most of them in different occasions last December.

Hermit out
| I want these bamboo(kawayan) plants at Army Navy in my home |
Last Saturday, my husband attended a wedding somewhere in Pampanga with my father in law and obviously, I begged off. Umandar na naman ang pagka-introvert ng Lola niyo. Haha.

Pagpag at Starbucks drive thru
I had a great time with my Highschool barkada last night despite the sad circumstance. I decided to drop by the nearest Starbucks on my way home for some 'pagpag'. To Filipinos it's a superstitious belief that you go to a place for a pitstop after visiting a wake to shake off the spirits of the dead.
It's a good thing I don't have to go down from my car because I ordered Caramel Frap for myself, Chicken Pesto sandwich for the hubby and a Choco donut for my son by drive thru. Great convenience. Everyone's happy.

another wake aka reunion
I know a lot of people are dying every minute. But if it's someone close or known to you, it's hard not to get affected. A highschool friend called me up early this morning. Apparently, one of our best friend's father died yesterday. In short, we agreed to meet up later to condole with her and her family. Instant reunion, again.

Mangan
This lunchdate is overdue already with one of my Kumares/bestfriend, A. It's supposed to be my blowout for my son's graduation last November. Inaanak ko yung panganay nya, 20 yrs. old. Naging student ko din. Her husband is an OFW, a cook in one of the oil tankers traveling for 10 months in a year. Our friendship come a long away na, about the age of our sons. We met at a private school where we used to teach. She's happily teaching now in a public school.
We finally settled in Mangan. Ang daming plates. Iuwi ko kaya ito for future use...

Reunion with my colleagues
No, this isn't entirely the happy kind of meet up of friends. We went out our way this afternoon to visit our former colleague, mrs. C to pay our last respects. My son asked me to say kumusta/hi to her former Math teacher na lang daw.

Sad news on Hearts' day
Early this morning my husband texted me that one of our Kumpares(his son is my hub's godson) had a heart attack. We were shocked because he's only 42 yrs. old. We knew that the disease is quite hereditary since both his father and uncle died due to a heart ailment. Good thing his vital signs are already stable. Get well soon, T. Bata pa ang anak mo. May you live longer. Guard your health.
While late this evening, news about a former co-teacher of mine has succumbed to cancer. I just saw it on my FB feed. I think she's 60-65 yrs. old only. Mrs. C was also my son's former Math teacher in Grade six. My son was shocked too, when he learned about it. Thank you for being part of our lives, Mrs. C.. Isa ka sa mababait na naka-trabaho ko. Have a great reunion with our Creator. Love and light.
