Black Panther

My son watched Black Panther together with his cousins so it was just the two of us(hubby and I) na lang ang nag-movie date. Normally, we do it as a family.

We chose the 7:45 pm screening time. We had a quick dinner at the nearby Old Spaghetti House. It looks unassuming outside the resto but their food was surprisingly delicious!

Larawan

We didn't watch any MMFF movie during the holidays because we didn't feel the need to. The last one that my husband and son watched was the latest Star Wars installment. Upon knowing that Larawan is a must see movie, we headed to the mall to catch its theater run last night. We saw it at 7:30 pm after a quick dinner at Tokyo Tokyo. I had Tempura as usual, while my husband had Chicken Teriyaki. We just found it weird that on a Monday night, there was a long line at the cinema and the resto was jampacked, too. Overpopulated na talaga ang Manila.

Jack Reacher

I didn't watch the first installment of this movie but when husband asked me if we could watch last Tuesday, of course, I obliged. I like Tom Cruise, plus action movies, too.

And we're glad we didn't miss this movie. It was intense and action packed, indeed.

Inferno and Bakit Lahat ng Guwapo may Boyfriend

It seems we missed watching movies in the theater that in a span of a week we watched two current films.

Last week(Monday), while having dinner husband asked me if we could watch Inferno by Tom Hanks. We headed to the mall and caught the last full show. I must say we're more impressed with the first two Dan Brown movies than this one.

X-Men Apocalypse

We watched yesterday this latest installment of the X-Men series at Trinoma.  I haven't seen the trailer yet so I don't have any expectations. I enjoyed their past offerings so I have no qualms watching it.

My reaction while watching the film, if I could shout my thoughts would be- "WOW!". It was epic- story, action, animation wise. It's on top of my fave movies this year, behind are Civil War and Batman vs Superman.

Go, watch it. I highly recommend it.

Easter mass and Batman vs Superman

Happy Easter! May we had the same  reflection from the last Holy week- Resurrection, Rebirth and Hope. Thank you Jesus for saving us. Thank you God, our Father.

My Bebe Love

This is the only year in my life that I've been so excited to watch a particular MMFF movie come Christmas time. Ano pa nga ba kundi ang Aldub's 'My Bebe Love'? This is the first time that Aldub nation will see them in the big screen, thus, the eagerness.

Good thing my boys are both fans, so there's no hesitation on their part. I went to Trinoma ahead of them because I expected that there will be a long line for the tickets. Husband will be coming from work while my son will just catch up as he is still at home. We will meet up instead. I was right. Pila pa more!

Heneral Luna, my kind of movie

Sept. 10, 2015

The Historian in me strikes again. I've watched this twice. I majored in and taught History after college kaya huwag na kayo magtaka. Haha.

Good thing my husband and I share the same interest when it comes to this. In the first place, we won't end up together if we don't have the same wavelength. He will find me boring. Minsan nga mas passionate pa siya kaya sabi ko dapat hindi sya Math major(before he shifted to a Business course), aside from up to now wala siyang memory gap unlike me considering he's older by two years.

Figaro coffee date and Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation

Aug. 7, 2015

It's been a week from it's first showing date. I didn't want to miss it so I asked my husband if we could catch it.

After we bought the tickets, we chose to stay at Figaro while waiting for the actual screening.

Ant-Man

July 16, 2015

I enjoyed this film so much than Jurassic World and San Andreas. Worth the cholesterol from my favorite Tater's butter popcorn.

Jurassic World

It was a date with the dinosaurs. We watched the earlier franchises, so we expect that this would be a good one, too.

It was entertaining, yes. But I watched better movies than this. Siguro nga ma-eenjoy ko kung 3D but I can't. Vertigo is just around the corner. CGI effects were really amazing and Chris Pratt can pass as the modern Indiana Jones(pero Harrison Ford pa rin ako), but warding off dinosaurs in heels is like a fairy tale to me.

San Andreas date

I thought that it was timely to watch this movie. After the deadly Nepal earthquake a month ago, we can't help but become more aware more than ever. We also experienced it here in our country, the latest was in Bohol in 2013. Although one can't predict it, preparedness is always better would be a big factor. Kahandaan at kaalaman.

errands + movietime: Avengers Age of Ultron

April 22, 2015

It is customary for my boys to watch these Avengers' movies on the first day. Ayaw daw nila maunahan ng mga spoilers. My husband and son has work so I was tasked to go to the mall early and purchase advance movie tickets the same day. It's fine with me since I need to go to the adjacent mall to have my phone repaired also.

Begin Again and Anchorman 2

We often watch movies on DVD if we weren't able to catch it in movie theaters. Or sometimes on purpose, we really don't. We often label them as ''pang-DVD lang' kind of movies both English and sometimes Tagalog, because spending p200+ each ticket and the traffic that I need to brave through aren't sometimes worth it.

Kingsman: The Secret Service

It's been a while since I saw an action movie that isn't a superhero material. In my family, when it comes to movies, boys rule. It's fine with me. I enjoy it as much as they do. I remember as a young girl, my Daddy and I would watch his favorite TV series. Walang choice, ilan lang ang channels noon at isa lang ang TV namin.  We would watch Hawaii Five-O, TJ Hooker, Six Million Dollar Man,  to name a few. Now I miss my Dad more. Inspired, there was a time that I would like to be a detective as a profession, pero naisip ko parang di ko kakayanin mag-aral ng Criminology. I was thin as a barbecue stick then di katulad ngayon tabachingching na.

Cafe Mary Grace and a failed movie date

Actually this was the second time around that my husband and I tried to catch American Sniper at the movie house. The first time was last Wednesday but we found the time too late for a last full show. Baka matulog lang daw kami sa sinehan. Gone were the days that 9pm for us is still too early. Sign of aging?

Today we tried to watch it again. But when we got to SM cinemas at 6:45pm the schedule of  screening got us confused. I thought we could watch already at 7 pm. They made two films 'share' in one cinema. Hello? It was the first time we knew  of such thing. They split the screening with another local movie, 'That Thing called Tadhana'(4pm and 7pm). We felt so disappointed. Ganun na ba talaga mag-business ngayon? Para siguradong puno ang cinema at all times they would limit the screening time? American Sniper's sked is 1pm and 10 pm.  Obviously, the 10 pm schedule is way too late for us na.
