After a few months of hiatus from travels(my last was Tokyo in April), we managed to have a quick visit to the province of Cavite this week. We needed to go to a wake in Manila Memorial Park in Dasmarinas, where a sister of my husband's friend died due to breast cancer at the young age of thirty-five. We also planned to visit a longtime friend's cafe. It was hitting two birds in one stone kinda day.
My husband fetch me at SM Mall of Asia after his work within the vicinity at 1 p.m. It was a clear day for a nice drive...
Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite |
We didn't encounter any heavy traffic. It was a smooth ride till we reached Cafe Antix in Cavite city, our first pit stop. It is a family owned cafe of my classmate in college and eventually, became a good friend through the years of my husband and I. It was our second time here. As expected, ang sarap ng pagkain nila. I didn't eat lunch on purpose because I know we were going to eat here. They serve Italian and Spanish cuisine in a cozy and antique filled interiors. Our friend loves collecting and restoring anything antique that he finds interesting and valuable.
We got to savor the following in between funny convos and munches...
Tre Salse Pasta(Bechamel, Marinara, Pesto with Mozza cheese) thumbs up! |
Mushroom in Mozzarella and Truffle Oil Pizza |
Mocha Latte plus cheesecake flan |
By 5 p.m. we bid goodbye and hit the road again en route to our next destination, Manila Memorial Park. Medyo malayo pala, mga one hour pa ang biyahe. But with the help of Waze, nakarating din kami in no time. We met our friend and her family. I got to chat with the Mom, may similarity sa nangyari sa Mommy ko. Aside from breast cancer, nagkaroon na ng water sa lungs niya and an aspiration tube was needed to drain it so that it won't put too much pressure on her breathing. Rest in peace, M. May God give you eternal rest.
Our third and last pit stop cum 'pagpag' was in Tagaytay. By this time, it was raining hard na. It's about thirty minutes from Dasmarinas.
When we reached Tagaytay, the rainshowers have already stopped. We decided to have our dinner at Concha's Garden in Cliffhouse.
Medyo humid pa rin but a little cooler than Metro Manila. I ordered Grilled Tangigue and husband chose Chicken Inasal. I kinda find their Chicken Inasal dry. They need to improve on this.
yummy, fresh and grilled to perfection |
We didn't order dessert since we were still full pa rin from our lunch/merienda earlier. We stayed in Cliffhouse for an hour before we headed back to Manila. It was definitely a fruitful day.
